Maserati GT2 Expands Its Global Reach With Over 20 Championship Opportunities
The Maserati GT2, a high-performance racing car, is now eligible to compete in championships across five continents. This expansion allows the vehicle to participate in various series worldwide, offering more opportunities for teams and drivers to engage in competitive racing. The Maserati GT2 has already made its mark by winning in the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli.
Maserati's Head of Corse, Maria Conti, expressed pride in expanding the range of competitions for the GT2. "We're very proud we can further increase the range of competitions in which Maserati GT2 can participate. Our passionate customers are the focus of all our activities; as such, we are committed to accommodating their desires and needs, offering teams and gentleman drivers multiple opportunities to compete on the track," she stated.
The Maserati GT2 is set to excel in over 20 series with more than 170 races annually. These events span across Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Oceania. The car's eligibility extends to prestigious series like the Michelin 24H Series and Ultimate Cup Series in Europe.
In Europe, the Maserati GT2 competes in several notable series. It returned to GT racing in 2023 with a debut at Circuit Paul Ricard. The 2024 season concluded with significant achievements: a drivers' title in the Am class and numerous victories across different categories.
The current 2025 season continues this success streak with recent races held at Spa, Belgium. Plans for 2026 include expanding the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli to incorporate a Silver class alongside existing Pro-Am and Am classes.
Expanding Horizons
Beyond Europe, the Maserati GT2 is eligible for various international championships. In Asia, it can participate in the China GT Championship and Japan Cup. The Japan Cup has quickly gained prominence since its inception in 2024 as a standalone series featuring multi-class entries.
In Australia, fans eagerly anticipate seeing the Maserati GT2 compete at events like Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour and GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS. These races attract top talent from around the globe.
African and American Ventures
The South Africa Endurance Series offers another platform for endurance racing enthusiasts. This championship has evolved significantly since its inception in 1958 and now features six races annually across South Africa.
In America, the Maserati GT2 participates in events such as GT America powered by AWS. This series focuses on sprint racing with exciting multi-class formats held at renowned circuits throughout the United States.
