Maserati Celebrates 100 Years Of Racing Heritage With Iconic Parade At Monaco E-Prix
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship kicked off with a thrilling double-header at the Monaco E-Prix. This event marked the beginning of Maserati's celebrations for its upcoming 100th anniversary in motor racing. The festivities took place on 3 and 4 May 2025, as Maserati prepared for rounds 6 and 7 of season 11. The brand commemorated its rich racing heritage, which began in 1926 with the Tipo 26's victory at the Targa Florio.
In a nod to its illustrious past, Maserati organised a parade featuring iconic models from its racing history during the Monaco E-Prix weekend. The parade showcased legendary vehicles like the Maserati 250 F, which triumphed in Monte Carlo in the mid-1950s, and the MC12, known for its dominance between 2004 and 2010. These cars navigated famous corners such as Rascasse and Casino Square, evoking memories of motorsport legends.
Among the parade highlights was the Maserati MC20 road coupé, symbolising the brand's return to modern racing. This car features a powerful Twin Turbo 3.0 L Nettuno V6 engine, inspired by Formula 1 technology. Its successor, the Maserati GT2, has achieved remarkable success in GT2 European Series and is available as a road-legal version called GT2 Stradale.
The parade concluded with Maserati's performance masterpieces: the MCXtrema and Tipo Folgore single-seater. The MCXtrema boasts a potent 740-CV twin-turbo V6 engine derived from Nettuno technology. Meanwhile, the GranCabrio Folgore represents Italian grand touring spirit with its electric propulsion system based on advanced Formula E solutions.
Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, expressed her excitement about reviving Maserati's competitive spirit on Monaco's iconic street circuit. She stated, "The track is our home... Seeing our cars parade in Monaco is therefore a unique emotion! These corners have made motorsport history." Conti hopes to add more victories to Maserati's impressive trophy collection soon.
Maserati S.p.A produces distinctive cars known for their style and technology. Their lineup includes models like Grecale SUV and GranTurismo grand tourer.
