Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Reports 2% Sales Growth In February 2025: 19k+ Units Sold
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, a well-known hatchback in India, has reported its sales figures for February 2025. The company sold 19,879 units of the Wagon R during this period. This represents a 2% increase compared to February 2024, when sales were at 19,412 units. This growth has positioned the Wagon R as the second best-selling car in India for February 2025, following the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
Having been on the market for over 25 years since its launch in 1999, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R remains a popular choice among buyers. Its affordability is a significant factor in its continued success. The base model, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R LXI, starts at ₹5.64 lakhs, while the top-end ZXI+ AGS variant is priced at ₹7.35 lakhs. These prices are ex-showroom.
The Wagon R is renowned for its impressive fuel efficiency. The CNG variants deliver a mileage of 33.47 km/kg. Petrol versions also perform well in terms of mileage. The petrol-manual variants achieve 24.35 km/l, while the petrol-AGS variants offer 25.19 km/l, according to the company's official website.
These mileage figures apply to the 1.0-liter petrol engine variants. Additionally, the Wagon R offers a 1.2-liter petrol engine option. The manual version of this engine provides a mileage of 23.56 km/l, and the AGS variant offers 24.43 km/l.
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG models come with a 1.0-liter engine and are available only with a manual gearbox; there is no AGS option for these variants. AGS stands for Auto Gear Shift, which is Maruti Suzuki's automatic transmission system.
