Say hello to Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Flex Fuel. This model can run on ethanol-petrol blends ranging from 20 percent (E20) to 85 percent (E85). So, even when the E30 petrol mandate comes into action by 2030, this vehicle will be ready to receive it any issues.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is 79 percent more environmentally friendly without compromising on performance.

To achieve this, the Wagon R has undergone several modifications, including the addition of ethanol sensors, heated fuel rails for enhanced cold start performance, and an upgraded engine management system.
In addition to these modifications, the Wagon R Flex Fuel also comes with a more robust fuel pump and injectors, All these changes ensure the car runs efficiently and trouble-free on flex fuel.

Under the bonnet, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is powered by a familiar 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine, delivering 88.5bhp and 113Nm of torque, with a standard 5-speed manual transmission.

Sighting At Auto Expo

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Flex Fuel was first showcased to the public at the 2024 Auto Expo in Delhi. According to Maruti Suzuki, the Wagon R Flex Fuel has been designed to significantly cut down on tailpipe emissions by utilizing a blend of ethanol and petrol as fuel.

The appearance of the Wagon R Flex Fuel remains almost identical to the standard Wagon R design, but it is the 'Flex-Fuel' decals that set it apart. Inside the cabin, fluorescent embellishments echo the decals, adding a unique touch to the vehicle's interior.
