Maruti Suzuki Fronx Gets Six Airbags As Standard - Prices Hiked
Maruti Suzuki is enhancing the safety features of its vehicle lineup by introducing six airbags as a standard feature. This initiative is being rolled out in phases, with the Fronx being the latest model to receive this upgrade. The Fronx, known for its stylish coupe-like design, now offers increased safety with the addition of side and curtain airbags.
Before this update, the Fronx was equipped with two airbags that primarily protected front-seat occupants during frontal collisions. The inclusion of side and curtain airbags raises the total number to six, providing better protection in various crash scenarios, including side impacts. This move aligns with Maruti Suzuki's goal to equip all its vehicles with six airbags by year-end.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Price Hike
Alongside the safety enhancement, Maruti Suzuki has implemented a price increase for the Fronx. The adjustment is modest, capping at 0.5% of the pre-update ex-showroom prices. This change helps offset the additional costs associated with upgrading from two to six airbags.
The Fronx's appeal extends beyond Indian borders, as it has quickly become a popular choice in international markets. It achieved a milestone by becoming the fastest Maruti Suzuki vehicle to reach 100,000 exports. For these markets, the Fronx comes with additional features like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a more powerful 1.5-litre petrol engine.
The recent update to the Fronx follows similar enhancements made to other models like the XL6. Maruti Suzuki aims to extend this safety upgrade across its entire range by year's end. There is also anticipation that Toyota's Urban Cruiser Taisor, which shares its platform with the Fronx, will receive similar updates soon.
Maruti Suzuki's commitment to improving vehicle safety reflects its dedication to customer satisfaction and market competitiveness. By making six airbags standard across its lineup, the company not only enhances passenger safety but also strengthens its position in both domestic and international markets.
