Maruti Suzuki eVitara Launch Date Announced: All Details Here
Maruti Suzuki is set to enter India's electric vehicle market with the eVitara. This marks Suzuki's first venture into electric cars, and the model will be manufactured exclusively in India. The eVitara is poised to be a significant launch for both Suzuki Global and Maruti Suzuki, with its debut scheduled for September 3rd, 2025.
The eVitara will be produced at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat facility and exported to markets like Japan, the UK, and Europe. In India, it will compete with electric SUVs such as the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and Hyundai Creta. The brand's strong reputation and extensive dealer network are expected to boost sales.

eVitara Features & Equipment
The design of the eVitara resembles a larger S-Presso but with a more refined appearance. It features body cladding for an SUV look, a charging port on the left front quarter panel, conventional front doors, and rear door handles on the C-Pillars. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes on all four corners.
Inside, the eVitara boasts a new 2-spoke steering wheel, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. The interior has a dual-tone Brown and Black theme with soft-touch plastics and premium leatherette upholstery. Other features include ventilated front seats, a fixed glass roof, wireless charging pad, powered driver's seat, 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS.
Powertrain & Performance
The eVitara is powered by an electric battery that can reach up to 61kWh in capacity. It offers a WLTP certified range of up to 428km. In India, only single-motor variants are expected to be available. These variants deliver up to 172bhp and 192.5Nm of peak torque.
The eVitara was globally unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo and has since generated significant anticipation both in India and internationally. Maruti Suzuki plans to sell it exclusively through Nexa showrooms while expanding its fast-charging network across the country.
Nexa Showrooms & Toyota Counterpart
A badge-engineered Toyota version called Urban Cruiser EV will also be manufactured at the same Gujarat plant by Maruti Suzuki. This model will share many features with the eVitara but will carry Toyota branding.
Bookings for the eVitara are expected to open around its launch date in September 2025, with deliveries commencing shortly thereafter. As Maruti Suzuki continues showcasing this model across various showrooms in India, excitement builds among potential buyers eager to experience this new electric offering.
