Maruti Suzuki eVitara To Undergo Euro NCAP Crash Testing: Results To Be Announced On...

Maruti Suzuki is set to introduce its first electric vehicle, the eVitara, in India and globally. This electric SUV will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant and is expected to launch in markets such as Japan, India, and Europe. The eVitara is a crossover SUV with an optional all-wheel-drive system, thanks to its dual motor setup.

The eVitara is anticipated to undergo crash testing by Euro NCAP soon. Known for its rigorous standards, Euro NCAP's assessment will provide valuable insights into the vehicle's safety features. The results are expected to be published on September 10th, 2025. This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first made-in-India Maruti Suzuki vehicle tested by Euro NCAP in a long time.

Maruti Suzuki eVitara Safety Features

The European version of the eVitara is likely to include additional safety features necessary for achieving high scores in Euro NCAP tests. These enhancements may not be present in the India-specific model, which will undergo separate evaluations by Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP. The vehicle's monocoque construction incorporates a battery pack located in the floor.

Euro NCAP might extend the same crash test results from the eVitara to its corporate twin, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV. Both vehicles share similar specifications, including 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs that offer an estimated range of around 500 km per charge. The Urban Cruiser EV has already been showcased and will also be produced at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat facility for global markets.

Anticipation for Crash Test Results

The anticipation surrounding the eVitara's crash test results is palpable, as it appears on Euro NCAP's official website ahead of publication. Although actual crash tests may have already occurred, enthusiasts eagerly await the official release of results. The outcome could influence perceptions of safety for both the eVitara and its Toyota counterpart.

DriveSpark Thinks

As Maruti Suzuki ventures into electric mobility with the eVitara, it aims to make a significant impact in both domestic and international markets. The upcoming Euro NCAP crash test results will play a crucial role in shaping consumer confidence and determining the vehicle's reception across different regions.
