Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Powertrain Details Out: Two Battery Pack Options & More
Maruti Suzuki recently showcased its first all-electric vehicle, the e Vitara, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Here are some of the important highlights about the powertrain of the model.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Range & Battery Details
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV will be available with two battery options: a 49kWh and a 61kWh pack. Both utilise Lithium Ferro-Phosphate (LFP) chemistry. Maruti Suzuki has opted to import these battery packs from BYD rather than assembling them locally. Also, the top-of-the-range model promises a driving range of 500km, marking a significant milestone for the company in India.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Thermal Management System
A sophisticated thermal management system ensures optimal battery performance even in extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to 60°C. This cell-to-pack configuration is designed to maintain efficiency regardless of weather conditions.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Electric Motor
The smaller 49kWh battery is paired with a single electric motor, delivering 142bhp and 192.5Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the larger 61kWh battery offers an increased power output of 172bhp, maintaining the same torque level.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Configuration
Unlike its global counterpart which offers AWD, the Indian version of the e Vitara will initially be available only in a two-wheel drive setup. Despite this difference, the vehicle's design aims to meet the needs of Indian consumers by providing an impressive range of up to 500km on a single charge.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Driving Modes and Features
The e Vitara is equipped with advanced technology such as ADAS and various driving modes including Eco, Normal, Sport, and a snow terrain mode. These features enhance adaptability to different driving conditions. Additionally, it includes an adaptive grille and regenerative braking that supports one-pedal driving.
