Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Performance Details Out: All Details Here
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce its first electric vehicle, the e Vitara, a significant move for the automotive giant known for its wide-ranging portfolio in the Indian market. This upcoming EV has stirred excitement with some newly revealed specifics, including its impressive charging capabilities.
When hooked up to a DC fast charger, the e Vitara's 61.1kWh battery pack is capable of charging from zero to 80% in just 50 minutes. This quick charge time positions it competitively alongside other electric vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and the Tata Curvv EV, which all boast similar charging durations for their respective high-spec battery versions.

The e Vitara is set to make a splash with its performance and range. It will be available in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout in India, paired with a motor that extracts a robust 171bhp and 192Nm of torque from the 61.1kWh battery pack. An alternative version will feature a 48.9kWh battery, delivering a slightly lower output of 141bhp but maintaining the same torque. Notably, the e Vitara aims to cover a distance of approximately 500 km on a single charge. Furthermore, its acceleration from zero to 100km/h in under 9 seconds is expected to match or exceed that of its competitors, highlighting its performance capabilities.
Advanced Features and Variants
In terms of options, the e Vitara will roll out in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, each equipped with a range of enticing features. The premium Alpha variant, for instance, will boast dual digital screens, state-of-the-art connected car technology, a comprehensive LED light package, luxurious leatherette upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, seven airbags for enhanced safety, a 360-degree camera, and notably, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) — a first for the brand. This suite of features underscores Maruti Suzuki's commitment to offering a technologically advanced and safety-focused vehicle.
Launch and Production Details
Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that the e Vitara will debut by September 2025, with production set to take place in India at the Gujarat facility. This launch not only marks Maruti Suzuki's entry into the EV market but also signifies the brand's strategic vision for future mobility. Additionally, the e Vitara will share its underpinnings with a Toyota model, leading to the introduction of the Urban Cruiser EV. This collaboration between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota further emphasizes their joint efforts in expanding the electric vehicle segment.
