Important Update On Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Launch Date In India
One of the most anticipated cars this year was the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The mid-size electric car was unveiled this year, but there was no information regarding its India launch. Autocar has now confirmed that the new Maruti electric car will be launched on December 2, 2025.
Over the last few months, Maruti Suzuki faced a shortage in battery supply and some other technical challenges, which delayed the launch. But Maruti Suzuki still exported this car to global markets like the UK. More than 7,000 units have been exported since August 2025, and the vehicle is manufactured at the Hansalpur factory in Gujarat.

Maruti's First Electric Car
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is built on the new Heartect-e platform. The car will have two battery packs:49 kWh and 61 kWh. It also has 2WD (144 hp, 174 hp) and AWD (184 hp) variants with different power levels.
The smaller battery pack has a range of 344km, while the big battery pack variant can go up to 428km in a single charge. The AWD model gets a reduced battery range of 394km per charge. Suzuki also offers features such as AllGrip-e, Dual Motor for AWD, Matrix LED DRLs, LED Projector headlamp, Adaptive grill shutters, regenerative braking, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the e-Vitara gets a 10.1-inch touch screen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Some of the luxury features include front-ventilated seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, a twin-deck floating console, and Ambient lighting. It also gets Drive modes like Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow.
Safety features include Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, an electronic parking brake, a Tyre pressure monitoring system, a reinforced battery protection frame, and all-disc brakes. Maruti claims it has built the e-Vitara with 50% advanced high-tensile steel, which provides maximum safety.
After launch, the Maruti e-Vitara will go against the Mahindra BE 06, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Tata Curvv EV. The Pricing is expected to be around 18 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).
