New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Bags 20,000 Bookings In India
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, launched in November 2024, has quickly gained popularity in India. With prices starting at Rs. 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the model has already amassed 20,000 open bookings by January 2024. Despite an impending price increase, demand remains strong, with 10,709 units sold last month alone. The top-spec ZXi and ZXi+ variants account for 37% of this demand.
Maruti Suzuki's Dzire has been a significant player in the Indian automobile market since its debut in 2008. Over the years, it has evolved through four generations, with the latest version introduced in November 2024. This new iteration is available in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. Customers can also choose from seven different colours.

Production Milestones & Export Success
Maruti Suzuki recently celebrated a major milestone with the Dzire reaching a cumulative production of 30 lakh units. This achievement took nearly 17 years to accomplish. The model had previously hit production milestones of 1 million units in April 2015 and 2 million units by June 2019.
The Dzire is not only popular domestically but also enjoys success internationally. Maruti exports the model to 48 regions worldwide, including Latin America, Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. In total, the company has exported around 2.6 lakh units across all four generations of the Dzire.

Engine Specifications & Safety Ratings
Under the hood of the new Dzire lies a robust 12-litre Z-Series petrol engine that delivers an output of 80bhp and torque of 112Nm. For those seeking an alternative fuel option, a CNG variant is available producing 68bhp and torque of 102Nm. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual or AGS (AMT) unit.
The Dzire stands out as Maruti's first car to achieve a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. This accolade underscores its commitment to safety alongside performance and style.

In addition to local sales success, Maruti Suzuki's export strategy has positioned the Dzire as its second-highest exported model. The brand's overall export milestone reached earlier this year further highlights its global reach.
Beyond the Dzire's achievements, other Maruti models like Alto, Swift, and WagonR have also surpassed the impressive production milestone of over 30 lakh units each.
The fourth-generation Dzire continues to build on its legacy while adapting to modern demands both locally and internationally. Its combination of safety features, engine options, and variant choices make it a compelling choice for consumers worldwide.
