Maruti Suzuki Achieves 3 Crore Domestic Sales In India
India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has created history by becoming the only brand to sell 3 crore cars in the country. The journey that started 42 years ago has been historic, and they are still reigning the indian auto industry.
3 Crore Domestic car sales

Maruti Suzuki India Limited took 28 years and 2 months to sell 1 crore cars. It took them a further 7 years to sell 2 crore cars, and the third crore was achieved in only 6 years and 4 months.
In their historic journey, the most popular car was the Maruti Alto, which has already sold 47 lakh units in India. The second place goes to Wagon R with 34 lakh units, and the third best-selling car from Maruti is the ever-popular Swift with over 32 lakh units.
Apart from these cars, the newly launched Fronx and Brezza were also among the top 10-selling cars. Maruti Suzuki sells 19 vehicles with multiple powertrain options, including Petrol, hybrid, and CNG.

Maruti's managing director and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, said, "When I look at the length and breadth of India and think that 3 crore customers have placed their trust in Maruti Suzuki to realise their dream of mobility, it fills me with humility and gratitude. Yet, with car penetration at approximately 33 vehicles per 1,000 people, we know our journey is far from over. We will continue to make every possible effort to bring the joy of mobility to as many people as we can, while being an asset to both the economy and the environment."
Maruti Suzuki dominates the small car market, but in recent years, the company has shifted its focus towards the popular SUV segment. So they launched cars like the Brezza, Grand Vitara, Fronx, Jimny 5-door, and Victoris. Maruti Suzuki is also eyeing the electric car segment with the eVitara, which will make its debut in December 2025.
