Porsche Introduces Manthey Kits For Enhanced Performance Of 911 GT3 RS And GT2 RS In The U.S.
Porsche has introduced Manthey Kits in the U.S. for two of its most track-oriented 911 models: the Type 992 911 GT3 RS and the Type 991 911 GT2 RS. These kits are designed to enhance performance, focusing on aerodynamics, suspension, and braking systems. The kits are available through certified Porsche Centers across the country.
The Manthey Kit for the Type 992 911 GT3 RS features significant aerodynamic improvements. A larger front lip with carbon fibre reinforcements and revised Gurney flaps increase downforce at the front axle. The rear window is replaced with a carbon fibre panel, reducing weight by 25%. Additionally, a carbon fibre shark fin enhances cornering stability by directing hot air away from the radiator.
For the Type 991 911 GT2 RS, the kit includes components that boost downforce significantly. New flaps on the front spoiler and a modified diffuser work together to increase downforce from approximately 108 lbs to 154 lbs at 124 mph on the front axle. At the rear axle, downforce increases from about 205 lbs to 440 lbs at the same speed.
The semi-active coilover suspension of the Type 992 911 GT3 RS has been adjusted to handle increased downforce. The spring rates are now higher by 30% at the front and 15% at the rear. This system uses multiple sensors and a new control unit to adjust dampers quickly for optimal stability based on driving conditions.
The Type 991 911 GT2 RS benefits from a track-optimized coilover suspension developed with motorsport expertise. Front shock absorbers have three settings, while rear ones offer four settings for precise tuning. Steel-encased brake lines provide more direct pedal feedback, enhancing responsiveness during high-speed driving.
Brake Enhancements and Personalisation Options
The Manthey Kit for both models includes upgraded brake components tailored for track use. Braided steel brake lines in the Type 992 ensure immediate response to braking inputs. For those seeking customisation, visual enhancements like illuminated door sill guards and decals are available for the Type 992 model.
Customers can personalise their vehicles further with options such as a towing eye in various colours for track use only. These personalisation choices allow owners to tailor their cars according to their preferences while maintaining high performance standards.
Availability and Pricing Details
Manthey Kits are available through certified Porsche Centers in the U.S., with delivery expected by Spring 2025. The MSRP for the Type 992 GT3 RS kit is $116,160, while the Type 991 GT2 RS kit costs $113,140, excluding taxes and installation fees.
Porsche Cars North America began offering these kits in collaboration with engineers in Weissach in early 2023. Currently, there are over forty-five certified centers where enthusiasts can purchase these performance-enhancing kits.
