Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spied Testing: Bigger Curved Screen & Design Tweaks

Indian SUV specialist Mahindra is getting its flagship ICE SUV, the XUV700, ready for a mid-life refresh. The upcoming facelifted version of the Mahindra XUV 700 was recently spied once again, and the latest images from Rushlane give us a closer look at the upcoming SUV's refreshed cabin.

The biggest change coming to the facelifted XUV700's cabin is a larger curved display for the touchscreen infotainment system, which now blends seamlessly with the digital driver's display. This updated setup is expected to run a refreshed infotainment interface with improved graphics and faster response times.

Mahindra has also made noticeable changes to the XUV700's cabin layout and the materials used in it. The dashboard is expected to feature more soft-touch elements, and the spy pics reveal new detailing around the air vents and the centre console. The steering wheel has been redesigned with sleeker spokes and integrated controls, and it is expected to feature an illuminated version of Mahindra's Twin Peaks logo.

Connectivity is another area where we expect the Mahindra XUV700 to get a major overhaul. The updated XUV700 is likely to feature upgraded navigation and voice controls, with the latter being supported by AI as seen in the firm's XEV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs.

Under the bonnet, the facelifted Mahindra XUV700 is not expected to make any changes and will retain the current SUV's engine lineup of either a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol or a 2.2-litre diesel. Both powerplants will continue to be offered with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox options.

The updated Mahindra XUV700 is expected to retain its all-wheel-drive variant to cater to customers who want to go off the beaten path with the SUV. The Mahindra XUV700's safety and driver assistance suites are also expected to see an upgrade.

When launched, the Mahindra XUV700 facelift will continue to compete with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. With its refreshed interior, updated tech, and proven mechanicals, Mahindra is looking to once again expand its SUV dominance to the premium SUV category.
