Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition Vs Standard Model: Top Differences You Must Know
The Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition has joined the trend of black-themed SUVs. Priced at 19.64 lakh ex-showroom, this model features an all-black exterior and interior. Despite these cosmetic changes, the SUV's core package, including its features and powertrain options, remains unchanged. Let's explore how the Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition stands out from the regular model.
Exterior Design
The Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition maintains its basic shape but includes several visual updates. It sports a Stealth Black paint job with brushed silver skid plates, black-on-black grille inserts, and blacked-out side mirrors. The SUV rides on 18-inch black alloy wheels, adding to its unique look. The combination of black and silver paint enhances its exclusive appeal.

In contrast, the standard version offers 13 exterior colours, including five dual-tone options. Unlike the Ebony Edition's blacked-out elements, the regular model features chrome finishes on parts like the front grille and dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
The interior of the Ebony Edition also follows a black theme while retaining essential features. It boasts a black leatherette finish with blackout trims and silver inserts on the centre console and door trim. A light grey roof lining complements this dual-tone scheme. Dark chrome AC vents complete the cabin design.
The regular model offers a dual-tone white and black interior with ivory seats. Aside from these differences in colour schemes, both models share similar interior elements.

Features
Feature-wise, both models are identical as they are based on the top-spec AX7 variant. The Ebony Edition is equipped with twin 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment panel. The infotainment system uses AdrenoX UI with Alexa integration and pairs with a Sony audio system.
Additional features include Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, voice commands, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, ORVMs with memory function, and OTA updates with 13 new feature updates. These features are also present in the regular version of the SUV.
Specifications
The specifications of both models remain consistent. The XUV700 offers two engine choices: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 197 bhp at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 380 Nm between 1,750 rpm to 3,000 rpm; and a 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering up to 182 bhp at 3,500 rpm with maximum torque of 420 Nm (manual) or 450 Nm (automatic). Both engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing Details
The Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition is based on the seven-seater FWD AX7 and AX7 L trims. Its ex-showroom price ranges from 19.64 lakh to 21.79 lakh for AX7-based versions and from 23.34 lakh to 24.14 lakh for AX7 L versions.
