Mahindra Auto, a prominent SUV manufacturer in India, has introduced new value-for-money (VFM) trim levels for its XUV 3XO model. These trims, known as XUV 3XO REVX, are designed to provide customers with enhanced value compared to the existing MX and AX trims. Additionally, the AX5 trim level has seen a price reduction of Rs 20,000 (Ex-sh), benefiting potential buyers. The company aims to increase sales through these strategic changes.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is a popular sub-4m SUV that competes with models like Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The recent Rs 20,000 price cut applies exclusively to the AX5 trim level. This reduction affects both Petrol Manual and Petrol Automatic variants within this trim. The AX5 is equipped with a 1.2L TCMPFi Petrol engine, while higher trims feature a more powerful 1.2L TGDi Petrol engine.
New REVX Variants
Following the launch of the REVX variants, Mahindra decided to reduce the AX5 trim's price by Rs 20,000 (Ex-sh). The REVX A trim is positioned between the AX5 and AX5 L trims in terms of features and equipment. It offers more features than the AX5 but less than the AX5 L. This strategy aims to create a clear distinction between these trims for easier customer decision-making.
The REVX A trim is noteworthy as it is the most affordable option in the XUV 3XO lineup featuring the more robust 1.2L TGDi Petrol engine. Meanwhile, the AX5 trim comes with a lower-spec 1.2L TCMPFi Petrol engine delivering 109bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options are available for this trim.
Price Reduction Strategy
The decision to cut prices for the AX5 variant aligns with Mahindra's goal of boosting sales by offering competitive pricing in the market. By introducing the REVX variants and adjusting prices, Mahindra seeks to attract more customers and enhance its market presence among sub-4m SUVs like Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
