Mahindra XEV 9S Teased Ahead Of Debut - Massive Panoramic Sunroof Confirmed
SUV specialist Mahindra has released a new teaser video for its upcoming electric SUV, the XEV 9S, confirming a panoramic sunroof among other features. The Mahindra XEV 9S will make its global debut on November 27, 2025.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will be the latest Mahindra EV on the brand's INGLO EV platform that also includes the XEV 9e and BE 6. The new XEV 9S will serve as Mahindra's new flagship electric SUV, positioned above its current lineup of born-electric EVs.
Styling details visible in the teaser reveal a closed-off grille with vertical chrome accents, aerodynamic multi-spoke alloy wheels, dark roof rails and a dual-tone finish with bold chrome trim along the cladding.
Inside, previously leaked visuals of test mules of the XEV 9S hint at a triple-screen layout that integrates a 12.3-inch driver display, infotainment touchscreen and co-driver screen. The interior is expected to include ventilated and massaging front seats, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio, multi-zone climate control, and configurable ambient lighting.
Powertrain specifications for the Mahindra XEV 9S remain under wraps, but we expect the same 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs seen on the BE 6 and the XEV 9e. Performance figures for the XEV 9S are expected to mirror the XEV 9e and BE 6 EV, which produce up to 335 bhp and 535 Nm.
However, there is a chance that the XEV 9S will feature a dual motor setup that will rival the one seen on the Tata Harrier EV.Fast-charging capability and vehicle-to-load functionality are also expected to be the same as the XEV 9e.
The XEV 9S will compete with other large electric SUVs planned for 2026, including models from Hyundai, Kia and Tata's Avinya platform. Mahindra is expected to commence Indian sales of the XEV 9S in early 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
