Mahindra XEV 9S Launched - Test Drives, Bookings & Delivery Timelines Revealed
Indian SUV specialists Mahindra today (Nov 27th) launched the all-new Mahindra XEV 9S in India, with prices for the three-row electric SUV starting at Rs 19.95 lakh ex-showroom. The Mahindra XEV 9S uses the INGLO born-electric platform and will be sold in six variants with three battery packs on offer.
Although prices for the various variants of the Mahindra XEV 9S are already public, bookings are not yet open. At the launch event, Mahindra released details about when test drives will begin, when customers can lock configurations, when it will open up the order
books fo the XEV 9S and when first deliveries will roll out to buyers.
Test drives of the Mahindra XEV 9S will begin on 5 December 2025, giving interested buyers an opportunity to experience the three-row electric SUV, its cabin, features and electric performance ahead of the formal booking window opening in January 2026.
From 14 December 2025, interested customers will be able to add their preferred Mahindra XEV 9S configuration to a digital cart on the Mahindra website. This window covers all the variants on offer and the six colour options: Stealth Black, Ruby Velvet, Everest White, Desert Myst, Midnight Black and Nebula Blue, as well as the three battery packs.
On 14 January 2026, Mahindra will open official bookings for the XEV 9S across its network and online channels. Customers will be able to confirm their selected variant, battery pack and colour, with final pricing and delivery timelines set to be communicated at the time of booking.
Deliveries of the Mahindra XEV 9S will commence on 23 January 2026. The rollout will prioritise early bookers, with dispatches expected to begin from key metropolitan dealerships first before extending to additional locations as production and allocation ramp up during the following weeks.
The Mahindra XEV 9S itself is a three-row electric SUV positioned as the company's first seven-seat EV. Built on the INGLO skateboard architecture, it will be available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery packs, providing multiple range and performance options for different usage patterns.
