Mahindra XEV 9S 7-Seater EV Teased - Launch On November 27th
Mahindra has confirmed that the Mahindra XEV 9S will make its global debut on November 27. The Mumbai-based carmaker just released a teaser for the upcoming 7-seater electric SUV which will launch at its Scream Electric event in Bengaluru.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will likely be positioned above the XUV700 in the brand's lineup. The expectation is that the Mahindra XEV 9S will be the company's flagship electric SUV, offering three rows of seating and a premium cabin layout.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will be built on the company's bor-electric EV architecture called INGLO EV platform. This platform supports multiple body styles, allows flexible battery sizes and enables quicker development across international markets where the brand plans to expand.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will feature a design similar to the ICE XUV700 but will feature distinct design elements from the firm's born-electric lineup. The trailer also highlights a continuous LED light bar and styling that follows Mahindra's new BE and XUV EV design language.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is expected to feature flush door handles and wide LED DRLs positioned across the width of the front fascia. These elements match Mahindra's updated electric design theme previously shown on the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The interior of the Mahindra XEV 9S will focus on space optimisation thanks to the flat EV architecture floor. The packaging benefits of the INGLO base allow wider cabin space, improved legroom and a layout optimised for three-row usability.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will use LFP battery chemistry with fast-charging compatibility supported by the INGLO platform. The batteries on this platform are engineered to deliver improved thermal management along with higher durability in varying temperature conditions.
The INGLO platform used on the Mahindra XEV 9S can support both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive setups. The platform also allows multiple motor outputs, enabling performance tuning and raising hopes of all-wheel drive Mahindra EVs to rival the likes of the Tata Harrier EV..
The Mahindra XEV 9S will be the first seven-seater electric SUV from the brand. The XEV 9S is expected to play an important role in the company's global electric roadmap, which includes plans to enter right-hand-drive and selected left-hand-drive markets.
Mahindra will reveal more details, including powertrain specifications, performance numbers and full interior images of the Mahindra XEV 9S at the debut event scheduled for November 27.
