Mahindra XEV 9e Electric SUV Gains Popularity Among Indian Consumers & Celebrities
The XEV 9e, an electric SUV, is gaining traction in India. This model isn't from Maruti Suzuki or Tata Motors but from Mahindra. Its popularity is rising among Indians, including celebrities and industry leaders. Vinod Sahay, Chairman of the Mahindra Group Executive Board, has also acquired this vehicle. Sahay, who also chairs the Confederation of Indian Industry for Defence and Internal Security, took delivery of the car with his wife.
Mahindra's electric cars are designed to meet international standards, contributing to their popularity among Indians and celebrities alike. Mahindra has also launched another electric SUV model, the BE 6, alongside the XEV 9e. This model is slightly smaller but shares similar features with the XEV 9e. Both models offer battery options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The first battery provides a range of 542 km on a full charge, while the second offers 656 km.
Currently, Mahindra's electric vehicles are available only with rear-wheel drive. However, there are plans to introduce an all-wheel drive option soon. The BE 6 and XEV 9e differ in appearance but share many features. Both models have been well-received by Indian consumers.
Vinod Sahay's acquisition of the Mahindra XEV 9e underscores the growing acceptance of electric vehicles in India.
