Mahindra Vision T Concept Breaks Cover — The Thar E Has Evolved
Indian SUV specialist Mahindra pulled the covers off its new Vision T SUV concept at the Freedom NU event on Independence Day. The Mahindra Vision T concept is an evolution of the Thar E prototype first seen in 2023 and is built on the company's flexible nu.iq platform.
The Mahindra Vision T keeps the boxy silhouette that's become the Thar family's trademark but it looks a lot more road-ready than Thar E, thanks to some familiar design elements.

Up front, the headlights are squared-off units with vertical LED DRLs running alongside them. A tough, black bumper holds a yellow tow-hook latch, that adds to the rugged tone of the concept. The flat bonnet and six-slot grille echo the Thar Roxx, giving the Vision T a familiar face with a cleaner, production-friendly twist
From the sides, the Vision T's profile is tall and straight-edged and it rides on chunky off-road tyres tucked under bold, squared-off wheel arches. The rear quarter glass gets a smoked finish, and the rear door handles are hidden neatly in the C-pillars for a cleaner look.

The rear sticks to classic Thar territory with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Slim, squared tail lamps use vertical LED elements that match the front's DRL signature.
Mahindra hasn't revealed any drivetrain details about the Vision T. The nu.iq platform it sits on can house petrol, diesel, hybrid, or fully electric setups, keeping the door open for different market needs and regulations when a production version is decided.

DriveSpark Thinks
If it reaches showrooms as we sure as hell hope it does, the production-spec Mahindra Vision T will line up alongside the Thar and the Thar Roxx, but it will offer a more modern interpretation of the rugged SUV concept, one that balances the Thar's heritage with the push towards future electrification.
