Mahindra Vision SXT Concept Unveiled: Is This The Thar Pickup Of The Future?
Indian SUV specialist Mahindra has unveiled the Vision SXT concept, a rugged pickup inspired by the Thar E prototype from August 2023 at its Freedom Nu event in Mumbai.
The new Mahindra Vision SXT concept won't go into production in its current guise but it previews the firm's design language for the future. Future Mahindra's based on this concept, which is underpinned by the firm's nu.iq platform, could be electric, hybrid, or ICE-powered.

Mahindra Vision SXT Design
From the front, the Vision SXT shows pixel-shaped dual-projector headlights beneath turn indicators, all arranged inside a square frame. The bonnet features hard creases and cuts that give it a fierce, rugged look.
The Vision SXT's grille is rectangular and finished in matte-black and makes the front end of the concept SUV look rather rugged. This is further enhanced by the chunky off-road style bumper at the front that includes a silver bash plate.

Along the sides, the SXT's body features sharp creases and angular cladding around the wheelarches and lower doors, giving a geometric, rugged profile. Door handles echo the Thar's style-pull handles at the front and C-pillar-mounted handles at the rear.
Also visible are roof rails, camera-based mirrors, and chunky off-road tyres. A black strip runs below the mirrors on the front doors, offering contrast against the body paint and accentuating the concept's sharp design lines.

At the rear, the Vision SXT flaunts two spare off-road wheels mounted in its flat-bed area. Tail lamps are slim and rectangular, joined by a matte-black bar studded with the 'Vision.SXT' badge. The rear bumper matches the front's rugged theme with its chunky build and silver bash plate setup. The roof-mounted spoiler hosts a high-mounted third brake light.
DriveSpark Thinks
The Mahindra Vision SXT is just one glimpse into the carmaker's future and it adds a pickup to the Thar portfolio. While this specific design will not go into production, future Mahindras will feature an evolution of Vision SXT's desig,n and we can't wait to see that evolution on our roads.
