The introduction of Light Grey interiors marks a significant pivot in Mahindra's strategy. Initially launched on August 15, 2024, the Thar Roxx set a new standard in India's lifestyle off-roader segment with its premium, tech-forward interior offerings. However, the exclusive choice of Ivory White interiors for both its 4X2 and 4X4 variants received a mixed reception. While the white interiors exuded luxury, they proved impractical for the Thar's primary audience—off-road enthusiasts and owners who frequently encounter dust and mud.
Recognizing the need for a more durable and easy-to-maintain interior, Mahindra unveiled a Mocha Brown theme in October 2024, but only for the 4X4 variants. Now, with the comprehensive switch to Light Grey, Mahindra eliminates the white interiors altogether, prioritizing functionality without sacrificing the SUV's premium appeal. Under the hood, the Thar Roxx offers two engine choices: a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine delivering 177 PS and 380 Nm, and a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine with 175 PS and 370 Nm. Both engines come with options for manual or automatic transmissions, with the diesel variants having the exclusive option of 4X4.
