Mahindra Thar Facelift Spotted At A Dealership Yard - Launch Imminent?
The upcoming facelifted version of the Mahindra Thar three-door has been spied arriving at a dealership, revealing new details of what appears to be a revised interior with big feature upgrades taken from the four-door Thar Roxx. Also visible are some rather notable changes on the outside.
The most visible update on the Mahindra Thar facelift is a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the smaller unit used in the current model. A new three-spoke steering wheel is also part of the updates, and this unit appears to have been taken from the Thar Roxx.

The placement of the power window switches has shifted as well, moving to the door pads. These switches are also from the four-door Thar Roxx model. Additional updates inside the cabin include a wireless charging pad positioned on the centre console.
The test mule of the Mahindra Thar facelift also shows a reverse camera integrated into the centre of the spare wheel mounted at the rear. Other interior revisions visible include grab handles on the A-pillars, front armrests, and trim pieces similar to those found in the Thar Roxx.

On the outside, the latest spy images from the dealership yard show a revised front grille featuring stacked vertical slots. This styling bears similarity to the treatment seen on the Thar Roxx. Alloy wheels remain unchanged at 18 inches on the test vehicle, though alternate designs are likely for higher trims.
Powertrain details are expected to remain the same on the Mahindra Thar facelift as the outgoing model. Options include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 152 horsepower, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel rated at 119 horsepower, and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel with 132 horsepower. Transmission choices will continue with a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic.

One significant mechanical change observed on the Mahindra Thar facelift is the introduction of electric power steering. Test models show the hydraulic steering setup being replaced with the electric unit already used in the Thar Roxx. This feature will likely be offered across variants of the facelift.
The refreshed Thar remains in the testing phase, although this latest version appearing at a dealership in what appears to be production form, suggests that a launch could be just around the corner.
