Spied: Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Truck Spotted Testing In India
A pickup truck version of the Mahindra Scorpio N has been spied testing in India near Manali in Himachal Pradesh. The latest spy shots reveal a single-cab variant with an extended cargo bed, hinting at Mahindra's plans to cater to both commercial and international markets.
The test mule largely retains the Scorpio N's front-end styling, featuring a bold grille and halogen headlamps. However, a closer look at the rear reveals taillamps borrowed from the previous-generation Scorpio Pik-Up, which Mahindra sells in markets like Australia and South Africa.
Rolling on 17-inch steel wheels, the single-cab Scorpio N pickup appears to be a workhorse designed for heavy-duty tasks. The increased bed length should enhance its cargo-hauling capabilities, making it ideal for businesses that require a robust and reliable pickup. While Mahindra has not officially revealed details about the powertrain, the pickup truck is expected to take its diesel engine from Scorpio N SUV.
The tried and tested 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine under the bonnet produces 175 PS and 400Nm of torque and it is expected to be offered with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.

Inside, the Scorpio N pickup truck could feature a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster from the "regular" Scorpio N, unless Mahindra decides to go down the fully utilitarian route and make the interiors as basic as possible.
Given Mahindra's focus on global markets, this single-cab pickup is likely being developed with export destinations such as South Africa and Australia in mind.
The Scorpio N-based pickup will compete with models like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max in international markets.
