Commercial vehicle and three-wheeler sales also pushed the total upwards. Domestic commercial vehicle volumes for September stood at 26,728 units, a rise of 18% compared to last year. Commenting on the performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said: "Our SUV sales of 56,233 and total sales of 1,00,298 vehicles in September reflect a robust growth over last year, driven by the GST 2.0 benefits and the festive season demand, especially in the early part of Navratri. During the first 9 days of Navratri, we witnessed over 60% growth in SUVs and over 70% growth in Commercial Vehicles compared to the same period last year. We are currently facing distribution and dispatch challenges given the unprecedented demand and are working to further streamline dealer stock deliveries."
