Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e Cross 20,000 Sales In Just 5 Months - Cover Over 9.3 Crore KM
Mahindra's new electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, have found strong demand in India. In just five months, combined sales have crossed 20,000 units. Together, owners have already logged more than 9.3 crore kilometres across highways and city roads.
The milestone reflects how Indian buyers are warming up to larger EVs. It shows that BE 6 and XEV 9e are being adopted not as secondary city runabouts but as the primary family SUVs. Both born electric SUVs are based on Mahindra's advanced INGLO platform, which has been designed specifically for electric mobility.

Battery options for the XEV 9e and BE 6 include 59 kWh and 79 kWh packs, both using blade LFP cells. The larger pack enables a certified range of up to 683 kilometres, while real-world driving comfortably exceeds 500 kilometres as per Mahindra's testing. Charging from 20 to 80 per cent takes about 20 minutes with a DC fast charger.
Performance numbers position the BE 6 and XEV 9e among the strongest in their class. Power outputs for the 2 SUVs range from 231 to 286 horsepower, with torque rated at 380Nm. The BE 6 is the quicker of two off the line, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, and both electric SUVs have top speeds exceeding 200 km/.
Both SUVs have suspension setups that have been tuned to balance comfort and stability, with the BE 6 being the sportier of the two options. Both the electric Mahindra SUVs also offer a flat floor layout that frees up more space inside the cabin.
Technology is a strong focus for both the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Features include a triple-screen dashboard for the XEV 9e (the BE 6 gets a 2-screen setup), a 16-speaker 1400W hi-def sound system with Dolby Atmos support, connected services with over-the-air updates, and Level 2+ ADAS driver assistance. Both EVs feature 6 airbags and a host of ther safety kit and have earned five-star Bharat NCAP safety ratings.
Running costs add another advantage these electric SUVs provide over their ICE rivals. Mahindra estimates the BE 6 and XEV 9e operate at around ₹1.1 per kilometre, compared to nearly ₹9 for petrol or diesel SUVs. Over five years, owners could save between ₹12 lakh and ₹13 lakh, supported by subsidies and tax benefits.
With sales already crossing 20,000 units in just 5 months, Mahindra's BE 6 and XEV 9e are signalling a shift in India's EV market and are helping electric cars move from niche choices to mainstream family cars in record time.
