Mahindra's New Charging Policy For BE 6 & XEV 9e Electric SUVs Explained

Mahindra has introduced a new policy for its BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs, allowing buyers to opt out of purchasing a company-supplied charger under certain conditions. Previously, acquiring a charger was mandatory. This change applies if there are no provisions for a private charger at home or office, if the buyer already owns a charger meeting Mahindra's safety standards, or if one charging point suffices for families buying multiple Mahindra e-SUVs.

For those who do not meet these conditions, Mahindra continues to offer two types of chargers: a 7.2kW AC charger priced at Rs 50,000 and an 11.2kW AC charger costing Rs 75,000. These chargers must be purchased with the electric vehicles if the conditions are not met.

Mahindra BE 6 EV Charging Options

The Mahindra BE 6 is available in various models with different battery capacities. The top model, Pack Three, comes with a larger 79kWh battery pack. This can be fully charged in eight hours using an 11kW charger or in approximately 11.7 hours with a 7.2kW charger. Other variants from Pack One to Pack Three Select feature a smaller 59kWh battery that charges in six hours with an 11kW charger and in about 8.7 hours using a 7.2kW charger.

XEV 9e Charging Details and Pricing

The Mahindra XEV 9e shares its battery options and charging capabilities with the BE 6 model line-up, offering both the larger 79kWh and smaller 59kWh battery packs alongside the same charging options of either an 11kW or a 7.2kW wall charger.

The XEV 9e does not include the Pack One Above variant found in its smaller sibling but maintains identical charging times across its range due to shared specifications.
