Mahindra Auto Achieves Significant Growth In April 2025
Mahindra experienced a successful sales period in April 2025. The company saw growth in both year-over-year (YoY) and month-over-month (MoM) metrics. Additionally, Mahindra's international exports showed significant improvement. Let's delve into the specifics of their performance.
In April 2025, Mahindra sold 52,330 units, all of which were SUVs. This achievement underscores Mahindra's position as a dedicated SUV manufacturer within the passenger vehicle sector. This is a distinction not shared by many other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Mahindra's Impressive Growth
Comparing April 2025 to the same month in 2024, Mahindra recorded a 27.61% YoY increase in sales. This translates to an additional 11,322 units sold compared to the previous year. When looking at March 2025 figures, where they sold 48,048 units, there was an 8.91% MoM growth with an increase of 4,282 units.
Mahindra's export operations also flourished during this period. In April 2025, the company shipped 3,381 units internationally. This marks an impressive 82% YoY growth compared to the 1,857 units exported in April 2024, resulting in a volume gain of 1,527 units.
Commercial Vehicle Sales Performance
While passenger vehicle sales were robust across the board, commercial vehicle (CV) sales presented a mixed picture for Mahindra. The company maintained its stronghold in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment weighing between 2T and 3.5T by selling 19,141 units—a YoY growth of 9% from last year's figure of 17,638 units.
The LCV segment above 3.5T and medium-heavy commercial vehicles (MHCV) also saw positive results with sales reaching 1,196 units—a YoY increase of 10%. However, challenges arose in the LCV segment below 2T where sales dropped by 21%, with only 2,652 units sold compared to last year's total of 3,372 units.
The three-wheeler segment faced minor setbacks as well; Mahindra experienced a slight decline of about 1%, selling a total of 5,470 units during April. Overall, Mahindra Auto demonstrated strong performance in April with notable achievements in both domestic and international markets despite some challenges within specific segments.
Speaking of the sales in April 2025, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, “Building on the strong momentum of last year's performance, we began the year on a strong note in April by achieving SUV sales of 52330 units, a growth of 28% and total vehicle sales of 84170 units, a 19% growth over the same month last year. These numbers indicate the strength of our portfolio and customer offerings.”
