Under its robust exterior, the Armado is powered by a 3.2L turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine. This engine can run on multiple fuels and delivers an impressive 215 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The power is channelled through a four-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels, allowing the vehicle to reach speeds of up to 120 kmph.

The Mahindra Armado comes in two configurations: the Light Specialist Vehicle (LSV) and the VMIMS (Vehicle Mounted Infantry Mortar System). The Armado's development began several years ago in India, with initial deliveries starting in 2012. Specialised features bolster the Armado's durability. It can travel up to 50 km even on punctured or deflated tyres due to its 318/80 section 17-inchers. Additionally, it includes a self-cleaning exhaust system and advanced filtration, enabling efficient operation in extreme conditions throughout India.
