Mahaveer Raghunathan Claims Win At Monza Finale Of 2025 Italian GT Sprint Championship
Mahaveer Raghunathan closed the 2025 Italian GT Sprint Championship with a class win at the Monza finale, driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 for AF Corse. Along with teammate Lorenzo Ferrari, the pair secured the GT3 Pro-Am Race 2 victory and placed sixth overall on track.
The result confirms Raghunathan and Ferrari as runners-up in the GT3 Pro-Am championship, finishing the season only four points behind title winners Mattia Michelotto and Ignazio Zanon. The Monza victory was their third class win of the year after earlier successes at Vallelunga and Imola.

The Monza weekend delivered mixed fortunes for the AF Corse pair. In Race 1, they crossed the line fourth overall and second in Pro-Am, but race officials later issued a penalty linked to an earlier on-track incident, pushing Raghunathan and Ferrari down to seventh in the final results.
In Race 2, Raghunathan made up ground after an early incident by gaining positions through clean overtakes before handing the Ferrari 296 GT3 to Ferrari during the driver change. The pair benefitted from a late Safety Car period that condensed the pack and reset gaps ahead of the closing phase.

Ferrari restarted strongly when racing resumed and extended the advantage over the Pro-Am competitors. The combination of Raghunathan's recovery drive and Ferrari's final stint pace allowed AF Corse to secure the class lead comfortably, finishing sixth overall and first in GT3 Pro-Am.
Entering the finale, Raghunathan and Ferrari held third in the GT3 Pro-Am standings. Their Monza race performances delivered enough points for the crew to move up to second in the championship, falling short of the overall title by just four points despite three class wins during the season.
Speaking after the Monza race, Raghunathan said, "It feels great to end the season with a win at Monza. Race 1 was disappointing with the penalty without which we would have won the championship , but we came back strong in Race 2. The car felt fantastic, and the team did a great job. We started this year at the first race with a win at Vallelunga, and to end the season with a win in Monza shows we've been consistently fast all year. Even though we were the quickest, we missed winning the championship by just four points due to things outside our control. Overall, it's been a strong and consistent season with AF Corse."
