Made-in-India Renault Triber Facelift Launched In South Africa

The India-made Renault Triber facelift has officially gone on sale in South Africa, with prices starting from R2,18,999 (Rs 11.08 lakh, approximately). The versatile sub-compact MPV is available in three trims - Evolution, Techno, and Iconic - with the top-spec variant offered in both manual and AMT options.

Design

The facelifted Triber for South Africa is identical to the India-spec model, both in design and equipment. It sports a refreshed front fascia featuring a revised grille with chrome inserts, new LED DRLs, and a more sculpted bumper. The rear gets updated tail-lamps and a tweaked bumper design. The facelift also introduces new colour options, enhancing the MPV's visual appeal.

Features

Inside, the cabin has been given a mild refresh with new upholstery and a dual-tone dashboard. The Triber continues to offer a 7-seat layout, with removable third-row seats that make it one of the most flexible vehicles in its class. The feature list includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, push-button start, and a cooled storage box. The higher trims also add LED headlamps, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.

Engine

Powering the Triber facelift is the familiar 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 72PS and 96Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Market Position & Pre-Facelift Version

Interestingly, Renault continues to sell the pre-facelift model in South Africa under the name "Triber Express." This version is aimed at fleet and commercial buyers looking for a more affordable and practical MPV option.

DriveSpark Thinks

With this update, the Renault Triber strengthens its appeal as one of the most affordable and versatile 7-seaters in both India and South Africa, offering a strong blend of practicality, features, and value.

That said, the recent updates to the GST has further reduced the prices for the Renault Triber in India. In fact, thanks to new GST 2.0, prices for the Triber Facelift is less than its predecessor in the country.
