Louis Foster Leads Honda 1-2-3 With First Career Pole Position At Road America
Louis Foster, a rookie with Rahal Letterman Lanigan, achieved his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES pole position at the XPEL Grand Prix in Road America. He will start alongside Alex Palou, the reigning series champion. Palou is aiming for his sixth win this season to extend his 73-point lead in the championship standings. Completing the top three is Kyle Kirkwood from Andretti Global, marking a Honda 1-2-3 start.
Honda has dominated the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season so far, winning all eight races, including the Indianapolis 500 with Alex Palou. This streak sets a record since the series resumed multi-manufacturer competition in 2012. Currently, Honda leads Chevrolet by 148 points, standing at 723 to Chevrolet's 575.
Graham Rahal, another Rahal Letterman Lanigan driver, secured the sixth spot in qualifying. Meanwhile, Kirkwood has been one of only two winners this season alongside Palou. Kirkwood aims for his third consecutive victory across different track types after wins at Long Beach and Detroit.
The qualifying results for Honda at the XPEL Grand Prix are as follows:

Alex Palou shared his thoughts on starting second: "Really good day... It’s always a bit frustrating when you miss pole by just a little bit—but at the same time it’s great to start up front." He remains optimistic about their chances for victory.
Kyle Kirkwood was slightly disappointed due to an MGU issue that limited him to one fast lap: "We only got one lap there at the end... But, nonetheless, we did a good job reacting to the issue." Despite this setback, he remains hopeful given P3's strong history at this track.
