Lexus LS Reinvented As Bonkers Six-Wheeled Luxury MPV & Coupe-SUV Concepts
Lexus has unveiled two concept vehicles under the reinvented "LS" nameplate at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, marking a major transformation of its flagship from "Luxury Sedan" into a new "Luxury Space" product family.
The first of the two new LS models, called the LS Concept, adopts a radical six-wheel configuration with three axles. The Lexus LS Concept's MPV architecture supports a spacious three-row layout with sliding rear doors, while a compact bonnet and steeply raked windshield create a monocab silhouette aimed at maximising cabin volume.

The front fascia carries a continuous LED light bar that merges into L-shaped daytime running lights and vertical lighting elements along the bumper edges. The illuminated Lexus branding replaces a traditional grille, underscoring the brand's shift toward clean, electrified design cues.
Inside, the LS Concept features a full-length cabin with six visible headrest positions across three rows. The middle-row seats recline, and the rearmost bench offers legroom similar to a typical second row. Two panoramic glass roof panels stretch across the roof, enhancing the feeling of space and natural light.

The second vehicle, known as the LS Coupe Concept, takes a coupe-SUV stance with a sweeping roofline and short rear deck. Its fascia introduces a new "sigma"-shaped LED signature, large multi-spoke alloy wheels and flush surfaces without conventional mirrors, replaced by camera pods integrated into the door skins.
Inside, the dashboard uses a multi-screen arrangement with a central display, driver interface and a passenger-side panel blended into the fascia. The second row is accessed via rear-hinged doors, and the luggage bay incorporates a sliding cargo floor and an extendable tailgate section.

Powertrain details have not been released, but the flat floor design and absence of visible transmission hardware suggest both concepts are fully electric. Lexus is expected to position them on a dedicated EV platform derived from the company's modular next-generation architecture.
The LS name, long associated with the brand's full-size luxury sedan, will now represent Lexus's future large-format offerings. Production of the current LS sedan is scheduled to conclude next year, and future models bearing the LS badge will signify "Luxury Space" rather than "Luxury Sedan."
