Lexus LFA Concept Revealed: No V10 Howl Only Electric Silence

Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus has unveiled the new LFA Concept. The new Lexus LFA Concept presents a fully electric interpretation of its halo sports car nameplate.

The battery-electric Lexus LFA Concept forms part of Toyota's "Shikinen Sengu" programme, which focuses on carrying forward engineering knowledge and design heritage through next-generation performance vehicles, including the GR GT and GR GT3 projects developed in parallel.

The LFA Concept is built around a new all-aluminium body frame shared with Toyota's latest performance architecture. The structure was created to achieve low weight, high rigidity and a low centre of gravity, allowing designers to preserve the original LFA's sculptural styling approach while adapting it to an EV-specific layout.

Lexus says the concept's exterior reflects an aerodynamic-first philosophy, shaping the nose, flanks and tail to support airflow efficiency at high speeds. Classic long-nose proportions are combined with a low stance and streamlined roofline.

The silhouette emphasises fluid continuity across its length, aiming for both visual tension and performance-oriented design intent. Despite its electric underpinnings, the form retains recognisable cues linked to the first-generation V10 Lexus LFA.

The car measures 4,690mm in length, 2,040mm in width and 1,195mm in height, paired with a 2,725mm wheelbase. The two-seat layout underscores its positioning as a focused sports car rather than a grand tourer. Packaging advantages of the EV layout enabled Lexus to refine occupant placement for improved visibility and driving feel while maintaining compact overhangs and a wide stance.

The LFA concept's cockpit has been designed to deliver an immersive, driver-centred experience. Control surfaces are positioned for intuitive reach, and displays are arranged to minimise eye movement at speed. Lexus says these measures reflect its "Discover Immersion" approach, which aims to strengthen the physical and emotional connection between driver and machine even in an electric format.

Lexus explains that the LFA Concept explores what BEV-specific engineering can provide when freed from traditional engine-bay and drivetrain constraints. This enabled designers to pursue a layout optimised for dynamic performance, structural balance and aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining the spirit of the original model's craftsmanship and engineering focus.

Technical specifications for the Lexus LFA Concept have not been released. Lexus has not confirmed details regarding motor configuration, battery capacity, expected performance outputs or charging capability. Lexus has also not announced a production timeline or market plans, emphasising that the LFA Concept currently represents a design and technology study showcasing the direction of future electrified sports cars from the brand.
