Larry's Legacy Auction To Feature Klairmont Collection With 295 Collector Vehicles In Chicago
Mecum Auctions has announced a special event, Larry’s Legacy: From the Larry Klairmont Collection. This auction will occur from September 19-21, 2025, at the Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum in Chicago. The event will feature around 295 collector vehicles and over 1,000 pieces of Road Art, all available without reserve.
The auction honours Larry Klairmont's dedication to automotive history. His passion led to the creation of one of the most renowned car museums in the United States. Among the highlights are the Golden Sahara II, a futuristic custom car from the late 1950s, and a unique 1926 Rickenbacker Eight Super Sport.
The Golden Sahara II is a standout piece that captured America's imagination decades ago. Meanwhile, the Rickenbacker Eight Super Sport is believed to be the only remaining example of its kind today. These vehicles represent just a fraction of what attendees can expect at this remarkable event.
Before the museum closes permanently after the auction, there will be a preview weekend on September 13-14. During this time, registered bidders can tour for free, while others can attend by purchasing general admission tickets. Proceeds from these sales will support the Larry’s Legacy Foundation.
This auction serves as a tribute to Larry Klairmont's legacy and vision. It offers collectors and enthusiasts a chance to own part of his extraordinary story through rare and historically significant automobiles and collectibles.
Further details about Larry’s Legacy Auction will be shared soon. For more information on Mecum's other auctions, visit their website or contact them directly. The site provides daily updates with consignments, vehicle descriptions, photos, and event schedules.
