Land Rover Slashes Prices By Up To ₹30.40 Lakh; Cyberattack May Delay Deliveries
British SUV specialist Land Rover has announced significant price reductions across its India lineup, with cuts ranging from several lakh rupees to over ₹30 lakh on certain high-end models. The move by Land Rover follows the government's decision to lower GST rates on luxury cars and SUVs.
The new pricing benefits apply to all the models sold by Land Rover in India - Defender, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport and the flagship Range Rover. The adjustments have been introduced immediately, making these vehicles more competitive in the Indian luxury SUV space
Under the revised structure, the flagship Range Rover model now sees the biggest drop of ₹30.40 lakh for its petrol SV variant, while the diesel version is cheaper by ₹17.40 lakh. The Range Rover Sport variants have reductions between ₹9.80 lakh and ₹19.70 lakh, depending on trim.
Defender models are now more accessible, with cuts ranging from ₹7 lakh to ₹18.60 lakh across Octa, Octa Edition One, and X-Dynamic HSE variants. Discovery variants - Tempest, Dynamic HSE, and Sport - are now cheaper by ₹4.50 lakh to ₹9.90 lakh.

JLR Cyberattack Could Delay Deliveries
While these revised prices are available for bookings, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has been dealing with a global cyberattack that disrupted its IT infrastructure, including production, order processing, and retail operations. This has led to operational challenges across multiple markets.
The cyberattack reportedly affected JLR's systems for inventory management, vehicle registration, and order tracking. Production lines were temporarily halted or slowed, and dealerships had limited access to IT tools. Customers may face delayed deliveries even after placing bookings at the new prices.
Reports suggest that restoring the affected systems is a complex process. Even as JLR works on bringing IT infrastructure back online, backlogs could take several weeks to normalise. The company is prioritising high-demand markets, which could influence delivery schedules in India.
Despite these challenges, Land Rover dealerships continue to accept new bookings under the revised price structure. Buyers benefit immediately from the price cuts but may need to factor in potential delays in deliveries caused by the cyberattack as operations stabilise.
