Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition: Top 5 Things You Should Know

Land Rover India has introduced the Defender 110 Trophy Edition at Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). This limited-run model pays homage to the legendary Camel Trophy vehicles and gets unique cosmetic updates, off-road accessories, and a single diesel powertrain option.

Exterior Design

The Defender 110 Trophy Edition stands out with two exclusive paint finishes - Deep Sandglow Yellow and Keswick Green - inspired by the original Camel Trophy vehicles. The SUV also gets a contrasting black roof, bonnet, front and rear scuff plates, side cladding, and wheel arches, along with Trophy Edition decals on the bonnet and C-pillar.

It rides on 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels, with a choice between all-season or all-terrain tyres. Optional off-road accessories include a heavy-duty roof rack, deployable black side ladder, side panniers for added storage, and a snorkel. Buyers can also opt for a matte protective film in either body colour for extra durability and rugged appeal.

Interior

Inside, the Trophy Edition features Ebony Windsor leather upholstery that complements its rugged yet luxurious character. The LED-illuminated sill plates and Trophy Edition branding reinforce its exclusivity. The Defender's signature exposed crossbeam on the dashboard is colour-matched with the exterior paint and finished with laser-etched endcaps bearing the Trophy insignia.

Features

The Trophy Edition builds on the already well-equipped Defender 110, adding exclusive aesthetic details and practical off-road enhancements. Beyond cosmetic elements, it retains the Defender's signature configurable terrain response system, advanced off-road driving modes, and modern infotainment suite, ensuring the SUV remains as capable as it is premium.

Powertrain & Performance

Under the hood, the Defender 110 Trophy Edition is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbo diesel mild-hybrid engine, producing 350hp and 700Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive.

This setup allows the Trophy Edition to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 191km/h. While performance is impressive, the powertrain also offers excellent low-end torque, making it a formidable off-roader.

History

The Trophy Edition draws its inspiration from the legendary Camel Trophy, an off-road adventure event held between 1980 and 2000, often described as the "Olympics of 4x4s." Initially started with Jeep vehicles, Land Rover became the official partner from 1981 onward, supplying vehicles such as the Range Rover, Series III, 90, 110, Defender, Discovery, and Freelander for the competition.

DriveSpark Thinks

The new Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition model serves as both a celebration of Land Rover's rich off-road heritage and a modern interpretation of its adventurous spirit.
