Land Rover Defender Octa Black Revealed - Menacing Stealth Maniac

The Land Rover Defender Octa Black has been introduced, showcasing a striking all-black design. This new variant of the 4x4 SUV retains its powerful 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The Octa Black's appearance is more aggressive, aligning with the recent Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition.

The Defender Octa Black's exterior features a Narvik Black finish, enhancing its road presence. Customers can opt for a matte protective film instead of the standard gloss finish. The SUV includes updated headlights and flush tail lamps with smoked lenses, consistent with the Defender lineup's design updates.

The Land Rover badge on the grille is now black with darkened silver script. Underbody elements feature either gloss or satin black finishes. Wheel options include 20-inch forged wheels or 22-inch gloss black wheels with matching centre caps. Brake callipers are finished in gloss black.

Inside, Ebony Semi-Aniline leather upholstery debuts in the Defender range. Performance Seats feature unique perforation patterns and new stitching details on backrests. Carpathian Grey finishes adorn seat backs and armrest hinges.

The dashboard showcases a cross car beam in satin black powder coat, with an optional chopped carbon fibre finish. A 13.1-inch touchscreen provides infotainment access. 'Body and Soul Seats' (BASS) allow front passengers to feel music through audio signals from a 700W Meridian surround sound system.

Speaking about the new Defender Octa Black, Mark Cameron, managing director for the Defender brand said: "There’s no denying the presence and purpose of Defender OCTA: it’s the tallest and widest Defender, enabling it to tackle even more extreme terrain. The introduction of Defender OCTA Black takes things up a notch. We know our clients love giving their Defenders all‑black finishes, so our designers have applied this principle to every possible surface – inside and out – to create the ultimate tough luxury Defender OCTA."

Land Rover Defender Octa Black Engine

The Defender Octa Black is powered by a mild-hybrid system featuring a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine generating 626bhp. It includes 6D Dynamics suspension and an exclusive Octa mode for enhanced off-road performance.

The new 'Black' model joins the standard Octa in the Defender lineup, which now offers Sargasso Blue and Borasco Grey colours alongside Charente Grey and Petra Copper options. From late 2025, Patagonia White Matte wrap will be available for the standard model.

Although Land Rover hasn't confirmed it yet, there's speculation that the Defender Octa Black might soon arrive in India due to local demand for blacked-out SUVs and the popularity of the Defender series.
