Lamborghini Unveils The New Temerario Hybrid Super Sports Car At Taipei Event
The Lamborghini Temerario, a new High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV), has been introduced to the Taiwanese market at the Lamborghini Taipei Service Center. This follows its Asia Pacific debut in Japan last November. The event marked a significant step in Lamborghini's hybrid transformation, showcasing the brand's latest model to Taiwanese enthusiasts.
Esteemed guests, including Federico Foschini, Automobili Lamborghini Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, and Francesco Scardaoni, Regional Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific, attended the exclusive unveiling. The Temerario is the second vehicle in Lamborghini’s HPEV range, following the Revuelto. It redefines performance and comfort while making Lamborghini the first luxury brand with a fully hybrid range.
The heart of the Temerario is its innovative powertrain. Developed over five years, it combines a new twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors. This setup delivers 920 CV and achieves 10,000 rpm. The V8 biturbo engine provides 800 CV from 9,000 to 9,750 rpm and 730 Nm of torque between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm.
The electric motor acts as a "torque gap filler," ensuring smooth transitions through gear changes. The turbochargers enhance efficiency and performance at high speeds. The V8 biturbo can reach up to 10,000 revolutions per minute with a maximum boost pressure of 2.5 bar (abs).
Lamborghini Centro Stile designed the Temerario with a focus on aerodynamics and aesthetics. Its hexagonal Daytime Running Light (DRL) signature ensures recognisability from afar. The design incorporates elements from aviation with muscularity starting at the front.
The Temerario features integrated aerodynamics with air channels below headlights for improved cooling and aero performance. Its bold shark nose design symbolises speed and bravery. The car's exterior reflects its connection to legendary predecessors while introducing a fresh identity.
Interior Experience
The interior of the Temerario embodies Lamborghini’s ‘Feel like a pilot’ philosophy with low seating positions and slim dashboards. New sports seats offer comfort and are available in various colours and stitching patterns. The interior uses high-quality materials like carbon fibre and leather.
A new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) called "Pilot Interaction" enhances driver engagement. An 8.4-inch display allows customisation of themes while digital screens provide driving information. The steering wheel includes controls for main driving functions.
Driving Dynamics
The Temerario offers 13 driving experiences suitable for daily use or track performance. Modes like Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Corsa Plus cater to different driving styles. A Drift Mode option helps drivers achieve controlled oversteer for added fun.
Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer at Lamborghini, stated that "Temerario offers an innovative and puristic driving experience." The e-4WD system combined with torque vectoring ensures precision on track while maintaining rear-wheel drive character for driver involvement.
Battery Technology
The Temerario features a lithium-ion battery pack located within the central tunnel for optimal weight distribution. It can recharge using domestic current or regenerative braking from front wheels or directly from the V8 engine.
Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo (LDV) 2.0 system enhances agility in narrow corners by distributing torque optimally to each wheel without relying heavily on brakes unless necessary.
Transmission System
An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) shifts gears behind the V8 engine efficiently meeting powerful drive unit requirements while saving space compared to standard DTC layouts.
This compact transmission allows room for lithium-ion batteries powering electric motors optimising weight distribution ensuring balanced handling dynamics even during sporty drives or daily commutes alike!
Sound Engineering
Lamborghini invested significantly into creating unique audio experiences through technical measures enriching soundscapes across different modes such as Città mode offering quiet emission-free rides or Sport/Corsa modes amplifying exhilarating sounds!
