Lamborghini Polo Storico Marks Tenth Anniversary With Insights From Experts Committee
Lamborghini Polo Storico marks its tenth anniversary by honouring those who have shaped and continue to preserve its legacy. The Comitato dei Saggi, or Experts Committee, plays a vital role in this endeavour. This group of former employees, known as the "Seniores," contributes significantly to certification, restoration, and archival reconstruction processes. Their expertise is invaluable, often encompassing knowledge not documented in official archives.
Established in 2017 to honour engineer Paolo Stanzani, the Comitato dei Saggi has included automotive legends like Giampaolo Dallara and Mauro Forghieri. Today, it comprises individuals less known to the public but crucial in areas such as homologation and electronics. These experts have significantly contributed to Lamborghini's growth and technical excellence over the years.
Walter Rinaldi, one of these experts, began his career at Lamborghini as a forklift operator before advancing to head of production procurement. Born in Sant’Agata Bolognese, he worked at Lamborghini from 1966 to 2010. He witnessed the creation of every car from the 350 GT to the Murciélago during his tenure.
Giancarlo Barbieri started as an engine technician alongside notable figures like Paolo Stanzani and Bob Wallace. He was responsible for homologating models like the Countach and Diablo across various markets. His work ensured these iconic cars met regulatory standards worldwide.
Massimo Pizzi spent his entire career at Lamborghini in electrical and electronics sectors. Beginning as an electrician on the Countach line, he rose to head electrical systems in Research & Development. His contributions include work on unique models like the Sesto Elemento and Veneno.
