Kia UK Announces New PBV Centre Locations And Partners For Commercial Vehicles
Kia has unveiled plans for a national network of PBV Centres in the UK, dedicated to the sales and service of its new commercial vehicle range. These centres will be operational by late 2025, aligning with the first deliveries of the Kia PV5. Pre-orders for this fully electric vehicle are now available, marking a significant step in Kia's expansion into the commercial vehicle market.
The PBV Centres will feature dedicated facilities to efficiently serve customers. Each centre will include a sales area, service reception, and workshops equipped with high-capacity ramps and specialised tools. A team of sales staff, technicians, and service advisors will support these operations. The centres aim to provide comprehensive services tailored to commercial vehicle operators' needs.
Kia has selected partners for their expertise in serving commercial vehicle customers. Many partners already support Kia's fleet and business clients or operate multi-brand commercial vehicle sites. This collaboration ensures that the PBV Centres can deliver high-quality services from experienced professionals familiar with the industry.
The PV5, Kia's first fully electric commercial vehicle, was introduced at the CV Show on 1 May 2025. It comes in various formats such as Cargo, Passenger, Crew, Chassis Cab, and WAV. Prices start at £27,645 (+VAT) for the PV5 Cargo L2/H1 model. The government OZEV Plug-in Van Grant further reduces this price by £5,000.
Kia aims to sell between 3,000 to 4,000 units of the PV5 in its first year through these centres. By 2030, they plan to increase annual PBV sales to around 17,000 units in the UK. This growth strategy is part of Kia's broader 'Plan S' business initiative announced in January 2020.
Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia UK, stated: "The new PBV Centre network will be built on the back of our successful partnership with our dealer network and the vast majority of our new PBV Centres will be managed by an existing partner." This approach leverages existing relationships while introducing new standalone facilities linked to multi-brand van centres or existing Kia locations.
Future Models and Expansion
Following the PV5 launch, Kia plans to introduce larger models like the PV7 in 2027 and PV9 in 2029. These additions reflect Kia's commitment to expanding its commercial vehicle offerings over time. Customers interested in pre-ordering can expect deliveries by Q4 2025.
Kia's strategic move into the commercial sector highlights its dedication to innovation and customer service excellence. By establishing a robust network of PBV Centres across the UK, Kia is poised to meet growing demand for electric commercial vehicles while supporting sustainable transportation solutions.
