Kia Syros SUV Bags 5-Star Safety Rating Under Bharat-NCAP: Key Details Here
Kia's Syros SUV has quickly gained popularity in India, becoming a preferred choice for many. This tall-bodied vehicle, akin to the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, has been deemed safe for travel.
The Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) recently conducted crash tests on the Syros, confirming its safety credentials. The car achieved an impressive five-star safety rating, making it one of the safest models available in India.

The Syros scored high in safety tests, with 30.21 out of 32 points for adult protection and 44.42 out of 49 points for child safety. These results highlight its suitability for families, ensuring safety for both adults and children. Kia has integrated numerous safety features into the Syros to enhance passenger protection. It boasts 16 autonomous safety features with level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), contributing to its high safety scores.
The Syros includes forward collision avoidance warning, lane departure warning, and cruise control with braking and departure functions. Additionally, it is equipped with six airbags, rear and side parking sensors, ABS with EBD, traction control, and a 360-degree vision camera. These features collectively ensure maximum passenger safety. The car also has disc brakes on all wheels, ISOFIX anchor points for child seats, cruise control, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Beyond safety, the Syros offers premium features that enhance the driving experience. It includes a 30-inch single-length screen comprising three displays: one for the driver, an infotainment system, and climate control. The infotainment system supports Kia’s car connectivity features along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without requiring a wire. A Harman Kardon premium sound system with eight speakers adds to the luxury.
The Syros caters to comfort with ventilated rear seats and ample space for taller passengers due to its tall design. Additional premium features include a panoramic sunroof, cup holders, wireless phone charger, rear seat blinds, smart air purifier, 64-colour ambient lighting, and USB Type C charging ports. These amenities have contributed to its positive reception in India.

Since its launch three months ago, over 16,000 units of the Syros have been sold. This strong sales performance is expected to continue as more people recognise its safety and luxury offerings. The Syros is available in two engine variants: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 118 BHP and 172 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine delivering 114 BHP and 250 Nm of torque.
Engine Performance Options
The petrol engine offers both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox option. Meanwhile, the diesel variant comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Both engines provide excellent performance capabilities for diverse driving preferences.
