Kia Syros Bookings Opened In India: Token Amount Set At Rs 25,000
The Kia Syros, a new compact SUV, is now open for bookings in India. Customers can reserve their vehicle by paying Rs 25,000 either online or at Kia showrooms. The official price announcement is set for February 1, with the top-spec model expected to cost around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are anticipated to begin by mid-February.
The Syros will be showcased publicly for the first time on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. It will start arriving at local dealerships by late January or early February. Test drives for potential buyers are likely to commence around this period as well.

Kia Syros Engines
The Syros offers two engine choices: a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 120hp and 172Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116hp and 250Nm of torque. Both engines come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant also has an optional 7-speed DCT automatic, while the diesel variant offers a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Kia Syros Features
In terms of features, higher trims of the Syros boast amenities like dual-tone interiors, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, and dual 12-3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation. Additional features include front and rear ventilated seats, wireless charging, powered driver seats, a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, and level 2 ADAS technology.
Practicality Focused Design
Kia India's MD and CEO, Gwanggu Lee, highlighted that the Syros prioritises cabin space over exterior design aesthetics during its global debut. Despite being under four meters long to benefit from tax incentives for compact SUVs in India, its tall boy design enhances practicality and interior roominess.
The Syros surpasses the Sonet in width, height, and wheelbase length. Its rear-seat space rivals that of the larger Seltos model. Additionally, it offers a generous boot capacity of 465 litres—20 percent more than the Sonet—further enhancing its practicality.
Market Competition
The Kia Syros enters a competitive segment with rivals such as the Skoda Kylaq, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue among others. Its combination of practical design and feature-rich offerings aims to attract buyers looking for value in compact SUVs.
Overall, the Kia Syros promises to deliver a blend of practicality and advanced features within a compact footprint. With its imminent launch and competitive pricing strategy, it is poised to make an impact in India's bustling SUV market.
