Kia Sportage Unveils New Model With Advanced Features And Electrified Powertrains
The latest version of Kia's top-selling Sportage has been unveiled in Europe, showcasing significant upgrades. With over 7 million units sold worldwide, this compact SUV now features enhanced design, innovation, and technology. It aims to set new benchmarks in its segment. The Sportage offers both petrol and hybrid powertrains, aligning with Kia's commitment to sustainable mobility.
The Sportage's interior is designed for luxury and space. It includes dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays and a 10-inch head-up display for easy access to information. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enhance connectivity, while Kia Connect provides additional digital features. The vehicle also supports on-street parking payments through Kia In-Car Payment.
Kia's 'Opposites United' design philosophy gives the Sportage a bold appearance. The exterior combines smooth surfaces with rugged forms, featuring LED Star Map lighting and a distinctive grille. Wheel options range from 17-inch to exclusive 19-inch designs for specific models. Inside, the cabin offers ample room with luxurious materials like Dinamica suede.
The interior also boasts a two-spoke steering wheel and hidden air vents for a sleek look. New seat covers provide added comfort, with premium options available in certain variants. Dinamica’s eco-friendly fabric underscores Kia's dedication to sustainability, using high percentages of recycled materials.
The Sportage is equipped with advanced technology for an improved driving experience. The Connected Car Navigation Cockpit includes dual curved displays and driver assistance systems. A wireless charging pad is conveniently located inside the upper tray, while the multi-mode audio/climate touchpad enhances usability.
Additional tech features include a Harman Kardon audio system and Digital Key 2.0 for keyless access via smart devices. The vehicle supports up to five devices connected to its Wi-Fi hotspot, offering 4G LTE-based internet access.
Powertrains and Safety
The new Sportage offers both petrol and hybrid powertrains from launch, catering to diverse customer needs. Its aerodynamic design contributes to dynamic driving performance alongside a powerful turbo hybrid engine and low centre of gravity.
Safety is prioritised with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems like Auto Emergency Braking and Highway Driving Assist 2. These systems use sensors and cameras to detect potential hazards and assist with speed maintenance and lane changes.
Production Details
The new Sportage will be manufactured at Kia's plant in Žilina, Slovakia, with availability expected in showrooms by the third quarter of 2025. Full UK pricing and specifications will be announced closer to its release date.
