Kia EV6, EV9 And Niro Owners Now Access Over 21,500 Tesla Superchargers For Enhanced Charging Convenience

Kia EV owners can now utilise over 21,500 Tesla Supercharger stations across the country. This addition significantly boosts the number of available fast chargers for Kia vehicles, which already had access to more than 22,000 chargers from other networks. This expansion aims to enhance convenience and alleviate range anxiety for electric vehicle users.

Through the Kia Access app, customers with Kia EVs equipped with standard NACS ports or adapters can easily connect to the Tesla Supercharger network. The app also allows users to locate and navigate to charging stations using their EV infotainment systems or compatible smartphones. Information such as charger availability, status, and pricing is readily accessible.

Kia EV Owners Gain Access to Tesla Chargers

The inclusion of Tesla Superchargers increases Kia's charging station count by over 80%. This development underscores Kia's commitment to providing a superior ownership experience. "Kia is committed to an exceptional ownership experience and expanding the network of available DC fast chargers to our EV customers is an important component to maintaining the brand’s leadership in electrified mobility," stated Seungkyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America.

For existing customers with CCS1 charging ports, Kia offers NACS-to-CCS1 adapters through its dealerships. This ensures that all Kia EV owners can benefit from the expanded charging options. The company remains dedicated to clear communication and has clarified that recent marketing posts by Nordic distributors do not represent its official stance.

Kia America, based in Irvine, California, consistently ranks high in automotive quality surveys. Recognised as one of TIME World's Most Sustainable Companies of 2024, Kia serves as the "Official Automotive Partner" of both the NBA and WNBA. The company offers a diverse range of vehicles through nearly 800 U.S. dealers.

Some models like the 2025 all-electric EV6 and EV9 SUVs are assembled in America using both domestic and global parts. This aligns with Kia's dedication to sustainability and quality manufacturing practices.

The integration with Tesla's network reflects Kia's strategy to lead in electrified mobility. By providing more charging options, they aim to boost consumer confidence in choosing fully electric vehicles.

Kia America condemns any actions disrupting charging infrastructure availability. They emphasise that reliable access is crucial for customer satisfaction and convenience.

Overall, this initiative marks a significant step for Kia in enhancing its electric vehicle offerings while maintaining a focus on sustainability and customer satisfaction.
