Kia Launches EV6 Air Standard Range Model With Competitive Price Of £39,235
Kia UK has expanded its EV6 lineup by introducing the 'Air' model, featuring a 63.0kWh Standard Range battery. This variant is tailored for budget-conscious buyers, offering a lower price point of £39,235. It maintains the practicality and design of the EV6 while providing an affordable entry into electric vehicles.
The EV6 'Air' Standard Range can travel up to 265 miles on a single charge under the WLTP combined cycle. In city conditions, it can reach up to 400 miles. The car is powered by a rear-mounted motor, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 8.7 seconds and achieving a top speed of 115mph.
This new model is more accessible due to its reduced insurance group rating of 29E. The vehicle's kerb weight is also lighter at 1,955kg because of the smaller battery. Despite these changes, it retains the same high standard specification as other EV6 models with larger batteries.
Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV6 'Air' offers rapid charging capabilities. It can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350kW DC charger or in 58 minutes with a 50kW DC charger.
The interior features black cloth and artificial leather finishes, with options for standard or premium paint colours like Runway Red and Glacier White. Premium paint choices are available for an additional £675. The car includes amenities such as heated front seats, Smart Cruise Control, and wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
The EV6 'Air' provides ample space with a luggage capacity of 490 litres and an additional 52-litre frunk for storing charging cables. It can tow braked trailers weighing up to 750kg, adding to its versatility.
Warranty and Availability
Kia offers a comprehensive warranty for this model: seven years or 100,000 miles for the vehicle itself, and eight years or 100,000 miles for the battery and motor. Customer deliveries are expected to begin later in May.
Orders are now open for this new variant, which aims to make electric vehicles more accessible without compromising on quality or features. Regular servicing is required every two years or after covering 20,000 miles.
