Kia EV4 Fastback Launches In The UK With Competitive Pricing And Impressive Specifications
Kia has announced the UK pricing and specifications for its new EV4 Fastback, a four-door electric saloon. This model is available in 'GT-Line' and 'GT-Line S' trims, starting at £40,895. It offers a range of up to 380 miles on a single charge. The EV4 Fastback is part of Kia's strategy to electrify more vehicle segments in the UK.
The EV4 Fastback features an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.23CD, making it Kia's most aerodynamic EV yet. It includes active air flaps in the front bumper and a near-full body undercover to enhance efficiency. The car's sleek exterior design contributes to its low drag and improved performance.
Both 'GT-Line' and 'GT-Line S' variants come with an 81.4kWh battery, providing up to 380 miles of range. A single front-mounted electric motor delivers 150kW (201bhp) and 283Nm torque, allowing acceleration from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds. The top speed is 105mph.
The EV4 Fastback incorporates Kia's latest technology, including a connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and navigation. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, enhancing user experience with seamless connectivity.
The interior boasts premium features like heated front seats, automatic air conditioning, and a smart entry system with a start/stop button. A three-screen dashboard layout includes a 12.3-inch driver display, a climate control touchscreen, and a navigation system.
'GT-Line S' models offer additional luxury with features such as premium relaxation seats that recline almost flat for comfort during breaks or charging stops. These models also include advanced entertainment settings like 'Rest mode' and 'Theatre mode'.
Charging Capabilities
The EV4 Fastback utilises Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform for efficient charging. It can charge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger or in over five hours on an 11kW AC charger.
Standard safety features across the EV4 lineup include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, and more.
Pricing Details
The 'GT-Line' trim starts at £40,895 while the 'GT-Line S' variant begins at £45,395. Both trims are equipped with the long-range battery pack offering significant driving distance on one charge.
Kia’s Plan S business strategy aims to launch 15 electric vehicles globally by 2030, with nine destined for the UK market. The order books for the EV4 Fastback are now open, with deliveries expected to begin this autumn.
