Kia EV2 Teased - Smallest Kia EV Reveal Set For Early January 2026
South Korean carmaker Kia has released the first teaser of the upcoming EV2, confirming that the compact electric SUV will make its world debut on 9 January 2026 at the Brussels Motor Show. The EV2 Kia will be the brand's smallest EV and will sit below the EV3 in the global line-up.
The teaser for the Kia EV2 shows a compact, upright silhouette with a short rear overhang, a sloping rear windscreen and a roof-mounted spoiler. The overall shape matches the earlier EV2 Concept showcased in 2025, indicating that the production model will retain most of the concept's proportions. The EV2 will be positioned as an entry-level electric SUV in global markets.

Production for the EV2 will take place in Europe, with the model planned for Kia's plant in Slovakia. The company has stated that the EV2 will offer a practical cabin layout with adjustable seating and space tailored for city use. More details on the interior layout and features will be revealed at the global premiere.
The EV2 will be based on a 400-volt EV architecture, which is aimed at balancing cost and charging performance for smaller electric models. Kia has not yet disclosed battery capacity, range estimates or motor configurations. These details are expected to be announced at the Brussels debut.

The EV2 will be focused initially on European markets, where demand for compact electric SUVs continues to grow. Its size and positioning also place it as one of the most affordable EVs in Kia's portfolio once sales begin in 2026. There is no confirmation yet regarding its launch in other global markets.
Kia is expected to reveal full technical specifications, variant details, charging information and expected production timelines on the day of the premiere. More teasers and information about the Kia EV2 are likely to follow ahead of the January 9 reveal event in the Belgian capital of Brussels.

"With the EV2, we reaffirm our commitment to make electric mobility truly accessible to a broader audience - without compromise," said Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe. "This compact SUV delivers the innovation and the spirit of our larger EVs while fitting seamlessly into everyday life in Europe. Designed, developed, and soon to be produced in Europe, we are confident that the EV2 will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of responsible mobility across the region."
