Kia Carens CNG Launched At ₹11.77 Lakh - Dealer Fitted Kit
Kia India has launched the new Carens CNG in the domestic market, priced from ₹11.77 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Kia Carens CNG option to the MPV's powertrain lineup and commands a premium of ₹77,900 over the equivalent petrol version priced at ₹10.99 lakh.
Unlike factory-fitted CNG versions offered by some rivals, the Kia Carens CNG will be available as a dealer-level retrofit, installed using a government-approved kit supplied by Lovato. The kit comes with a separate three-year or one lakh kilometre third-party warranty, provided directly by the supplier.
Under the hood, the CNG variant is expected to use the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine seen on the standard model. The four-cylinder unit produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a five-speed manual gearbox. Power output in CNG mode has not been disclosed.
The CNG setup is offered in a seven-seat configuration, ensuring no change to the overall cabin layout or usability. The fuel cylinders are mounted below the luggage area, with minor adjustments to boot space compared to the petrol model.
Feature highlights on the Carens CNG remain identical to the petrol version. The MPV continues to offer an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, semi-leatherette upholstery, a reverse parking camera, six airbags, and a digital instrument cluster.
Additional comfort and convenience features include five Type-C charging ports, keyless entry, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, and full LED lighting. Kia has retained the standard infotainment and connectivity suite even with the retrofit configuration.
